Great day at the 33rd Pat Lawler Tournament

Great day today in Annacotty, at the 33rd Pat Lawler Tournament. 17 teams competed for the Shield and the top prize of the Pat Lawler Cup. After a great days rugby, Galwegians won the Shield, beating Wexford Wanderers in the final. The Cup final was closely contested between Young Munster and Ballina/Kilaloe, with the cookies coming out on top to be deserved champions. Delighted also that IRFU President Martin O'Sullivan joined us as well as the Lawler family, who are always welcome visitors to Annacotty.

Peter Stringer, Ronan O'Gara, Tom Tierney and our own Dave Kilcoyne are among the Internationals that have played in this tournament in the past. It promises to be a great day ! Martin O'Sullivan, President of the IRFU, will be in attendance, so please join him and all the young players for what promises to be a great day.
Great in for First XV

This was a must win game for Bohs and from the off the Robins showed their intent. With forwards and backs combining well, it took three minutes for the ball to be touched down for a try by Rory White who was at the end of a great move. The touchline conversion was missed, but the tone had been set.
