Saturday 1st May 2010 Templehill Cork Cork Constitution v UL Bohs RFC
A very strong start by all concerned saw us surge ahead at half time 20 8 in front. The second half however saw the lads withstand a late rally by the home side but we held out for a late win 26 23 at the end.
From the beginning our starting fifteen stamped their authority on the game which brought an early exchange of penalties with A Mc Nulty securing the first three points. With an attacking game plan and swift movement of the ball through hanDs saw winger Darren Moroney cross wide on the left but we failed to convert . With 30 mins on the clock a loose ball won near our own line and moved through backs and forwards resulted in speedster Mark doyle crossing the line at the Pairc UI Rinn end for a 13 3 lead. Con responded with a try and late in the half Full back Harry De Stacpool crossed on the left at the stand side. Aidan McNulty converted. The score at half time was 20 8.
We started well after the interval when Aidan landed an early penalty. A stout defence with sustained pressure saw Cork Con score three tries one being an intercept that bought the scores to 23 all entering the last ten minutes. We were awarded a late penalty 45 metres out and again Aidan McNulty stepped up to slot the penalty that saw is out winners 26 23 at the end.
A tremenduous end of season for the seconds in 2009/2010 campaign. Congratulations to the coaches and squad for all their hard work that saw us return home with the Munster Shield.
